Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to be the technical engine of the AI Enablement team, bridging AI-adjacent and AI-native workflows across the PDLC. You will own a domain such as our MCP ecosystem and drive architecture across the stack while collaborating with product and security teams.

You will architect and deploy internal MCP servers, integrate Jira, Splunk and Datadog, and evaluate emerging AI tools to keep our platform secure and scalable.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in back-end services, proxy servers, and API integrations; Python/Go/TypeScript preferred.
• Experience using AI-augmented IDEs (Cursor, Claude Code) to maintain high throughput and quality.
• Excellent ability to translate complex technical implementations into clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own a technical domain (e.g., MCP server infrastructure) as primary maintainer.
• Architect and maintain internal MCP servers and deploy cloud-hosted agents within FedRAMP.
• Deliver sustainable, reusable software in an AI-augmented environment.
• Evaluate AI tools and ensure compatibility with security standards.
