Job summary

Workiva, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive AI Enablement across the PDLC. You will own a domain such as our MCP ecosystem and lead architecture, deployments, and tooling evaluations while collaborating with product teams.

You’ll build scalable back-end services, integrate Jira, Splunk and Datadog, and guide the team through AI-augmented development practices. A strong communications skillset is essential for documenting learnings and playbooks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in back-end services, proxy servers and API integrations.
• Experience with Python, Go or TypeScript is preferred.
• AI literacy with AI-augmented IDEs (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code).
• Excellent communication to document complex implementations.

Responsibilities

• Own a specific technical domain and be the primary maintainer.
• Architect and maintain internal MCP servers and deploy cloud-hosted agents within FedRAMP.
• Deliver software solutions with sustainable, reusable code.
• Conduct spikes on emerging AI tools to ensure compatibility with Workiva's architecture.
