Detroit Engineered Products seeks an Controls and Calibration Applications Engineer to develop advanced simulation technologies and AI-driven workflows for virtual calibration in automotive systems.

You will work at the intersection of controls engineering, digital transformation, and customer-focused solution delivery, coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-fidelity, real-time capable models and scalable cloud setups.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in automotive controls engineering, simulation, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Simulink, GT-Power, Amesim, MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and scripting languages.
  • Experience with vehicle calibration processes and methodologies, including INCA, Vector tools, or similar calibration software.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML technologies, Neural Networks, Large Language Models, and cloud computing (AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of vehicle control systems, real-time systems, co-simulation and system integration.

Responsibilities

  • Controls Management & Integration: Develops high-fidelity vehicle control models with real-time capability and automates model generation and testing workflows.
  • Customer Focus & Collaboration: Partners with propulsion controls and calibration teams, tracks KPIs, and supports adoption of simulation tools.
  • Digital Innovation & Advanced Technologies: Integrates AI with model-based approaches, designs cloud setups for scalable virtual calibration, and investigates emerging virtual engineering tech.
