Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Systems Engineer – Serial Data Calibration to own calibration across propulsion control systems. You will translate vehicle intent into repeatable calibration practices and guide calibration engineers while improving tools, workflows, and standards.

You will collaborate with calibration, controls, software, systems safety, validation, and program teams to shape technical direction and deliver dependable vehicle features to customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering field.
• 5+ years in propulsion-system calibration, controls, or diagnostics.
• Strong understanding of calibration execution and controls-system functionality.
• Experience with vehicle network communications (CAN/LIN).
• Ability to analyze empirical data and validate calibration results.
• Proven ability to lead technical discussions and cross-functional work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for serial-data calibration across engine, transmission, and powertrain modules.
• Provide technical direction for calibration execution and procedures.
• Apply knowledge of CAN and LIN across architectures.
• Review calibration guides, requirements, and design intent.
• Analyze calibration behavior and test results to identify root causes.
• Collaborate with System Safety and stakeholders to balance requirements.
• Create and improve tools, workflows, and training to increase repeatability.
• Lead serial-data technical reviews and communities of practice.
