Goldman Sachs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Global Banking & Markets AI/ML Technology group in New York, NY. You will design, build, and operate high-availability cloud-native services and production-grade AI solutions that integrate with Java microservices.

You will lead AI-driven development across the SDLC, collaborating with global teams to modernize processes and deliver scalable, low-latency trading infrastructure. This role emphasizes AI tooling and advanced observability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development in Java (Java 17+).
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, governing AI agents, and ensuring quality of AI-generated output.
• Experience building event-driven and distributed systems using messaging (e.g., Kafka).
• Strong SDLC practices: version control, CI/CD, automated build/test/deploy workflows, and code quality tooling.
• Solid testing discipline: unit, integration, and acceptance testing with modern frameworks.
• Ability to rapidly navigate, understand, and debug large and unfamiliar codebases with/without AI.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high-availability, multi-region, cloud-native services with security and observability.
• Develop event-driven architectures and optimized data paths for trade lifecycle management.
• Partner with engineers and stakeholders to modernize business processes and digitize workflows.
• Manage the full lifecycle of software components from requirements to release following Agile practices.
• Innovate AI-centric solutions that can be reused across front, middle, and back office functions.
• Multiply impact by orchestrating AI coding agents across the SDLC to accelerate delivery.
