Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer in New York, focusing on AI/ML-enabled Global Banking & Markets platforms.

You will design, develop, and operate low-latency Java services integrated with AI tooling to accelerate the software delivery lifecycle. You will work across multi-region cloud environments, implement event-driven pipelines, and collaborate with trading, risk, and platform teams to deliver scalable solutions while maintaining strong security and observability

Qualifications

2+ years of professional Java development experience (Java 17+ preferred).
Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and governance of AI agents.
Experience building event-driven, distributed systems and familiarity with Kafka.
Strong SDLC practices: version control, CI/CD, automated testing.
Excellent communication skills for cross-functional teams.
Ability to rapidly navigate large legacy codebases with or without AI assistance.
Ability to work across geographically distributed teams.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate high‑availability, multi‑region, cloud‑native services.
Develop event‑driven architectures and high‑throughput data pipelines for trade lifecycle.
Collaborate with engineers, domain experts, and stakeholders to modernize processes.
Manage full lifecycle of software components from requirements to release.
Innovate AI-driven solutions that integrate into Java microservices.
Lead governance of AI agents to ensure production‑quality code.
