Job summary

BizIQ seeks an experienced Director of SEO and AEO to lead and evolve strategies across traditional SEO, AEO, and AI-powered search for client success. The role emphasizes hands-on experimentation, data-driven decisions, and developing a high-performing team to deliver measurable outcomes.

You will mentor a multidisciplinary team, work closely with Sales, Design, and Development, and stay ahead of evolving search trends to drive client visibility and growth across engines and platforms.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of traditional SEO including local, organic, technical, and authority-building strategies, plus AEO and AI-powered search.
• Proven ability to develop hypotheses, run structured experiments, analyze results, and apply findings to improve performance.
• Hands-on leadership style balancing high-level strategy, experimentation, data analysis, problem-solving, and team leadership.
• Strong command of analytics and SEO platforms such as Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Moz, turning data into actionable strategies.
• Solid understanding of how AI and emerging technologies are changing search and digital marketing, and how to apply new tools strategically.
• Ability to translate complex concepts, experiments, and technical findings into clear training, documentation, and playbooks for diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, develop talent, establish accountability, and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve strategies across traditional SEO and AEO for clients, including AI-powered search, with scalable playbooks.
• Drive measurable results across client campaigns on Google Search and emerging AI-powered search.
• Dedicate significant time to hands-on experimentation, innovation, and testing to identify opportunities.
• Develop hypotheses, run experiments, analyze outcomes, and convert successful findings into repeatable strategies.
• Identify and test practical AI applications within SEO/AEO; evaluate new tools for impact and efficiency.
• Create training materials and resources to enable SEO Specialists, Sales, Client Services, and others.
• Lead a multidisciplinary SEO and AEO strategy team of about 15; coach and foster accountability.
• Use analytics to identify opportunities, solve challenges, and guide strategic decisions.
• Partner with Sales, Client Services, Design, Fulfillment, Development, and others to translate strategies into execution.
