Group One Investments, LLC in Union, NJ, seeks a Senior Accountant to support an AI-enhanced finance team. This on-site role develops into the Controller position over roughly four years, with growth in AI-driven workflows and routine ownership shifts.

You’ll build Claude-powered processes, manage monthly closes for multiple entities, and partner with auditors and lenders as the team expands.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or in Finance with solid accounting experience.
Hands-on experience using AI or automation tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Excel macros or Power Query) to make recurring accounting work faster or easier.
At least two years of multi-entity monthly close experience, public accounting experience, or both.
Reconciliation discipline: you can show a workpaper that ties, with support, and explain every reconciling item.
Working knowledge of a cloud general ledger (Intuit Enterprise Suite, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite or similar) and strong Excel skills.
Willingness to make AI tools part of your everyday work.

Responsibilities

Build and run AI-assisted workflows in Claude for each recurring task you own, document the procedure so work doesn’t depend on one person.
Prepare the monthly close for multiple entities and deliver P&L and balance sheet packages for Controller review, then take on that review yourself.
Keep all balance sheet accounts reconciled with owners and dates for open items.
Prepare reconciliations tied to bank, line of credit, loans, leases, prepaids, payroll, sales tax and fixed assets.
Prepare intercompany elimination entries and monthly intercompany reconciliation across entities.
Own the multi-state sales tax calendar: returns, payments, rate tables, and review calculations by outside partner.
