Group One is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its AI‑driven finance team in Union, NJ. The role offers a clear path toward Controller as the company rebuilds finance around Claude and automation.

You will manage multi-entity monthly closes, prepare P&L and balance sheet packages, and drive process improvements with AI tools. On-site, full-time employment with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with solid accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience using AI or automation tools to speed recurring accounting work.
• At least two years of multi-entity monthly close experience, public accounting experience, or both.
• Strong reconciliation discipline with documented workpapers.

Responsibilities

• Build and run AI-assisted workflows for recurring tasks and document procedures.
• Prepare monthly close for multiple entities and deliver P&L and balance sheet packages.
• Keep all balance sheet accounts reconciled with owners and dates.
• Prepare intercompany eliminations and cross-entity reconciliation monthly.
• Own multi-state sales tax calendar and review calculations with outside partner.
