Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a driven Quality Engineer to help advance our AI-driven testing efforts. You will design and maintain automation frameworks in Java and Python, perform API and database tests, and own feature quality from requirements to sign-off.

You’ll collaborate with product and development teams in an Agile setting, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and explore AI tools to improve testing efficiency and product reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 years of professional experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering role.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation scripts using Java and Python.
• Basic understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Agile/Scrum environment.
• Interest or prior experience testing AI-powered applications, such as chatbots or AI/ML systems.
• Hands-on experience with Hybrid Automation frameworks and CI/CD tools.
• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling) and cloud/container basics (Docker).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing and validate endpoints using automation tools.
• Conduct database testing with SQL queries for data integrity.
• Own quality for features, create test cases, execute suites, and sign off.
• Track progress with JIRA/ADO/ALM and report defects clearly.
• Implement tests for AI/ML apps, including chatbots and edge-case handling.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate test script development and data creation.
