Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Procurement Operations Specialist in San Francisco to support subcontracting and intercompany purchasing. You will manage POs, funding, and supplier communications while partnering with AP and Accounting to resolve issues.

This hybrid role combines hands-on procurement with building AI-enabled workflows to improve speed, accuracy, and service as the deployment grows.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience in procurement, procure-to-pay, and finance operations.
Ability to independently follow work through to completion.
Experience improving workflows with automation and AI.
Comfort with spreadsheets and ERP systems; coordinate fixes with system owners.

Responsibilities

Coordinate subcontracting and purchasing from intake through completion; manage agreements and PO changes.
Translate changes into coordinated updates to agreements and billing schedules.
Lead research and supplier issue remediation across contracts, POs, invoices and payments.
Serve as primary contact for intercompany invoice and payment status; coordinate ERP issues.
Own subcontracting workflow requirements for deployment platform and test AI-enabled outputs.
Partner with Finance Systems to measure cycle time, rework and time saved, prioritizing improvements.
