Job summary

Delta Dental Ins. is seeking a motivated Microservices Developer to join the Provider Management technology team in California.

You will design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable RESTful microservices that support provider recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, contracting, and servicing. The role emphasizes leveraging AI tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, automate testing, and modernize legacy applications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in computer science or equivalent technical field
• Experience designing and developing secure applications
• Experience with Azure or any cloud platform
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, REST API development, microservices and SQL
• Experience with Git/GitHub Actions, Maven, SonarQube, JUnit, TestNG
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, OAuth 2.0, and Datadog
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
• Ability to apply GenAI for code generation, debugging and documentation
• Strong focus on security, automation, and continuous improvement
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable RESTful microservices for provider management functions
• Collaborate in architectural design and system analysis with engineering teams
• Leverage GenAI and AI tools across the software development lifecycle
• Ensure AI-generated code meets security and performance standards
• Produce clear technical documentation and maintainable codebases
• Write tests and implement test-driven development and CD practices
• Advocate for automation to improve productivity and operational efficiency
