Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking an AI & Analytics senior consultant to lead cross-functional medical informatics and data architecture initiatives in the Government Markets Organization.

You will translate complex business problems into analytical solutions, build scalable pipelines in cloud environments, and develop self-service reporting like Tableau dashboards to support enrollment, retention, and performance metrics. Collaboration with IFP, Actuarial, and Finance is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4 years of related experience; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years of healthcare analytics experience (cost, quality, utilization, outcomes).
• 5+ years with complex Medical Claims, Membership, and Provider data architectures.
• Advanced SQL and Python; SAS; cloud-native stacks like Snowflake/Databricks.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop analytical systems meeting key business needs.
• Architectural transition of legacy analytics to cloud-native pipelines.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration and executive communications.
• Mentor staff by reviewing SQL, SAS, Python code; implement AI tooling.
• Develop Tableau dashboards for broker-facing performance and enrollment metrics.
• Support TiC reporting and regulatory submission deliverables.
• Improve member retention and acquisition through outreach tracking systems.
