Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Data Scientist, Consultant to design, build, and deploy production-grade AI products, including LLM-powered apps, agents, and RAG-enabled solutions. You will work across enterprise teams to translate AI research into scalable features that impact claims, payment integrity, and member experiences.

You will leverage Python, ML frameworks, and cloud resources to deploy models, APIs, and back-end services, ensuring robust, scalable AI solutions for real-world use

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Statistics or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years in software development, applied AI/ML, and analytics.
• Experience shipping software products, not just models.
• Experience applying ML/statistical methods to business problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship production-grade AI products including LLM-powered apps and agents.
• Develop and deploy ML models and infrastructure for enterprise workflows (claims, payments, clinical insights).
• Collaborate with partner teams to translate AI research into real-world solutions.
