Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Data Scientist, Consultant to accelerate business outcomes by applying machine learning, statistical analysis, generative AI, and applied AI. You will develop and deploy novel AI applications, translating cutting-edge research into real-world products and taking features from 0 to 1.

Expect collaboration across partner teams to maximize impact in customer-facing applications and enterprise workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, a quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
• 7 years of experience in software development, applied AI/ML, and statistical analysis
• Proven track record of shipping software products quickly, not just modeling
• Experience with ML methods and applying them to business problems
• Strong Python skills, including APIs and backend services
• Experience with ML design/infrastructure, deployment, evaluation, data processing
• Hands-on DL and LLM frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, LangGraph
• Hands-on experience building apps using generative AI models, prompt engineering, and RAG

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy novel applications leveraging ML models, statistics, and generative AI

• Design, build, and ship production-grade AI products including LLM-powered apps, AI agents, and RAG features
