Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Data Scientist, Consultant to accelerate business outcomes by applying ML, statistical analysis, and generative AI. You will design, build, and ship production-grade AI products, including LLM-powered applications and RAG-enabled features embedded in customer applications and enterprise workflows such as claims and member experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in software development, applied AI/ML, and statistical analysis.
• Proven track record of shipping software products rapidly.
• Experience applying ML methods to business problems.
• Strong Python engineering skills, including APIs/backend services.
• Experience with ML deployment, evaluation, and data processing.
• Hands-on with deep learning and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, LangGraph).
• Hands-on with generative AI applications and RAG.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship production-grade AI products.
• Develop and deploy ML models and statistical methods.
