Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related field.
Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ educational assessment experience.
Proficient copyediting across spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and usage.
Familiarity with major style guides (Chicago Manual of Style, Gregg Reference Manual, Garner’s Modern English Usage) and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per department, client, and industry standards; applies rules consistently.
Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components; sustains focus and identifies errors throughout the workday.
Queries when deviations from client style guidelines are appropriate and may create/modify client style guidelines.
Understands copyeditor’s scope of responsibility and flags concerns when needed.
Proactively seeks learning opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise.
