Job summary

Medici is seeking a hands-on, AI-forward Financial Controller to own day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities. You will leverage AI and automation to improve accuracy, reporting, and controls while collaborating with Leadership to scale the finance function.

The role requires leading month-end close, payroll coordination, and proactive process improvement in a fast-growing healthcare tech environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI, automation, or technology to improve finance and accounting processes, with ability to automate workflows and strengthen controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting, finance, or financial operations experience.
• Strong foundation in accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, payables, receivables, and controls.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of improving processes.
• Experience with QuickBooks and Bill.com or similar systems.
• Experience with multi-entity financial operations, recurring revenue, memberships, or healthcare billing preferred.
• CPA or similar designation preferred, but not required.
• Attention to detail, organization, and independence.
• Curiosity about AI/fintech to improve finance operations.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities.
• Manage accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and maintenance.
• Ensure accurate, timely generation of membership and service invoices.
• Design and maintain scalable billing and payment tracking processes.
• Leverage AI and automation to streamline workflows and strengthen controls.
• Identify automation opportunities across finance processes.
• Implement tools and processes for scalable finance function.
• Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, reimbursements, and Bill.com workflows.
• Maintain accurate financial records and QuickBooks activity.
• Lead month-end and year-end closes and financial reporting.
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting/forecasting.
• Coordinate payroll for employees and international contractors.
• Collaborate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Improve financial processes and reporting across the organization.
• Work with Operations and Leadership on billing and reporting accuracy.
• Identify gaps and resolve discrepancies to improve efficiency.
