Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the Air Traffic Business Area, guiding the Leidos Common Automation Platform (L-CAP) across four ARTs. You will oversee requirements, interfaces, integration, verification, and safety analysis in a regulated environment.

The role emphasizes AI-first engineering practices, modernization, and governance to ensure mission-critical systems meet safety and regulatory standards. Hybrid work with 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 10+ years.
• Systems engineering leadership for large-scale programs.
• Requirements management including decomposition and allocation.
• Verification and validation planning at the enterprise level.
• Interface management across subsystems and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-program systems engineering activities across four ARTs.
• Establish and govern requirements management processes and standards.
• Define and manage interface control documents and integration specs.
• Develop verification and validation strategy and execution plans.
• Maintain requirements traceability from stakeholder needs through implementation.
• Lead system integration planning and execution across the platform.
• Conduct safety analysis including hazard identification and mitigation.
• Support certification activities and regulatory compliance evidence.
• Lead technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
• Ensure cross-ART architectural consistency and governance.
