Job summary

Pantheon is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to scale our account management and identity services. You will lead a hands-on, people-first team, balancing technical decisions with delegation, while advocating AI-powered workflows for developers.

You will collaborate across Product, Security, UX, and Design to shape a roadmap that meets evolving customer needs and delivers secure, scalable WebOps solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong IC track record.
• 3+ years in direct people management: leading a team or tech-lead responsibilities with people ownership.
• Proven ability to launch and operate full stack, production-scale projects with strict SLOs.
• Deep knowledge of identity access management and developer-focused security products.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar languages for code/design reviews.
• Familiarity with cloud-native infra (GCP or equivalent, serverless, Terraform).
• AI-native instincts: familiarity with AI coding assistants and impact on team workflows.

Responsibilities

• Drive frontend and backend excellence across services with reliability as a priority.
• Architect backend systems using modern design patterns and technologies.
• Collaborate with Product, Security, UX, and Design to drive a technical roadmap.
• Explore new tooling, open source technologies, and potential vendors.
• Apply a security mindset to all builds to protect customers.
• Use data and retrospectives to improve team productivity and well-being.
• Set a high performance bar via roadmap success and technical excellence.
• Hire, coach, and grow engineers with hands-on guidance and ownership culture.
• Mentor senior engineers by delegating leadership and enabling stretch goals.
• Navigate difficult conversations with empathy and drive outcomes.
