Job summary

Fluidstack in San Francisco is hiring a Decision Engineering Team Lead to guide AI-powered tools for manufacturing and supply chain. You will lead a small team, ship high-leverage AI tools, and drive an AI infrastructure roadmap while still contributing technically.

You will own delivery, mentor engineers, and collaborate with leadership to identify the highest-impact AI augmentation bets. Competitive compensation and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years leading a team while still coding.
• Track record shipping production systems in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or automation.
• Production-grade code in Go, Python, and TypeScript, with full-stack web app experience (React/Next.js).
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and agentic tooling; knowledge of MCP servers.
• Deep understanding of AI coding agents and related tools (Claude Code, Cursor).
• Technical depth to review architecture and unblock engineers; ownership mindset.
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders; proactive roadmapping.
• Nice to have: experience in fast-scaling automation or supply chain software.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of Decision Engineers, setting technical direction and shipping bar.
• Still contribute hands-on by delivering high-leverage AI tools for manufacturing and supply chain workflows.
• Identify high-impact AI augmentation opportunities and translate them into shipped tools with measurable gains.
• Design and maintain shared AI infrastructure and documentation.
• Grow engineers through reviews, direction, and hiring.
• Partner with leadership to translate goals into an AI tooling roadmap.
