Job summary

Xcel Energy Inc. offers a Communications and Knowledge Management Internship in Minneapolis, MN, starting May 24, 2027.

The role blends communications, technology, and business process improvement, supporting SharePoint content, governance, and employee engagement across multiple teams. Interns will gain exposure to AI tools like Microsoft Copilot and contribute to knowledge management initiatives, while developing materials and participating in cross-functional projects within a hybrid work

Qualifications

Current student, junior or higher.
Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Communications or related field.
Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and commute to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.
Preferred qualifications include experience with AI, knowledge management, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

Develop and edit employee and stakeholder communications, including newsletters, emails and intranet content.
Support the creation, organization and maintenance of content within the CETS SharePoint site.
Research, test and support emerging AI tools and capabilities, including Microsoft Copilot and other productivity solutions.
Participate in cross-functional project teams, providing communications and knowledge management support for priority business initiatives.
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve information sharing through automation and digital tools.
