Job summary

Credit Union of Texas (CUTX) is seeking a Collections Officer to manage delinquent member accounts with a focus on compliant, empathetic communication. You will negotiate payment plans, process payments, and perform skip tracing using CUTX-approved tools.

Your role includes working with Collection Management on complex cases and ensuring all actions are auditable. Responsibilities include outbound/inbound calls, account review, and documentation in the loan servicing system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or additional collections/financial services coursework preferred.
• 1–2 years minimum in call center, banking, credit union, or collections; 2+ years preferred.
• Ability to negotiate payment arrangements with members or customers.
• Experience using AI- or analytics-driven prioritization or workflow tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform outbound and inbound calls to delinquent members; manage queues with limited supervision after training.
• Negotiate suitable payment arrangements to cure default and bring accounts current.
• Accept calls and propose alternatives or payment plans within delegated authority.
• Contact members by letter, email, or other approved channels using CUTX templates.
• Review each account before contact to determine required collection activity.
