OpenAI is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineering leader in New York City to own end-to-end delivery of complex AI deployments. You will map business outcomes to technical plans, oversee execution across FDE, researchers, and customer engineers, and ensure on-time shipments and adoption within customer workflows.

This high-trust, high-autonomy role requires 7+ years of delivery leadership, strategic thinking, and deep technical fluency.

Formación

• 7+ years of customer-facing technical delivery leadership.
• Track record of leading large, complex customer engagements with AI.
• Excel in high ambiguity environments and simplify complex work.
• Move between system-level and execution-level detail; map workflows and constraints.
• Think strategically and connect customer needs to scalable solutions.
• Strong technical fluency, sequencing instincts, and ability to discuss technical trade-offs.
• Have shipped AI/LLM systems; understand patterns, integrations, and production pitfalls.
• Translator with executive presence; explain trade-offs to business leaders and drive execution.
• Onsite with customers to accelerate delivery (25–50%+).

Responsabilidades

• Own the technical delivery plan for multiple interdependent work streams with milestones and acceptance criteria.
• Run day-to-day engineering execution across OpenAI FDE and customer teams; keep progress unblocked and prioritized.
• Embed with customer teams to land deployments, map workflows, and drive onboarding and change management.
• Partner with Product and Research so components land in time to support deployment goals.
• Codify reusable patterns and field signals to improve product and models.
• Own value cases and ROI; set KPIs and measure pre-/post-deployment impact for exec sponsors.
