Job summary

LVI Associates is partnering with a venture-backed AI infrastructure developer in San Francisco to recruit an MEP Lead who will serve as the technical authority for mission-critical design across a growing portfolio of AI-focused data center developments.

You will own engineering standards, design strategy, technical reviews, and commissioning requirements from site evaluation through turnover, helping establish the technical foundation of a rapidly growing platform devoted to next-generation AI

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mission-critical or data center engineering experience.
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background.
• Experience designing or delivering hyperscale, colocation, HPC, or AI-focused facilities.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, redundancy strategies, and critical systems.
• Experience with liquid cooling, direct-to-chip cooling, CDUs, or other high-density cooling technologies.
• Ability to lead technical decision-making across multiple stakeholders and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead MEP design strategy for high-density AI and GPU data centers.
• Define and maintain company-wide engineering standards.
• Own cooling and power-distribution architecture decisions.
• Evaluate liquid cooling technologies and high-density infrastructure solutions.
• Direct external design consultants and engineering partners.
• Review design packages, equipment selections, and technical submittals.
• Lead commissioning and integrated systems testing standards.
• Support technical site due diligence and feasibility reviews.
• Partner closely with development, power, and construction teams.
