Job summary

Submer designs and delivers end-to-end AI datacenter infrastructure with advanced liquid cooling. We seek an MEP Design Engineer to own full MEP design for high-density HPC/AI data centers at 100-300 MW scales, including modular deployments.

You will coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for next‑gen GPU clusters and reference architectures. Work with senior engineers to deliver energy-efficient, scalable data centers, focusing on reliability, redundancy, and rapid deployment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; PE license preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive MEP engineering experience in mission-critical facilities, with 2-3 years in large-scale data centers.
• Proven ability to design complete HPC/AI data centers across Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing.
• Experience with 100-300 MW scale HPC/AI data centers and modular deployments (1-2 MW units).
• Knowledge of NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GB300 and Vera Rubin VR200 architectures.

Responsibilities

• Articulate holistic MEP design, specification, and optimization for hyperscale data centers across all 3 disciplines.
• Design electrical systems including MV/LV distribution, switchboards, transformers, PDUs, BESS, UPS, and generators.
• Oversee mechanical systems focusing on high-density liquid cooling and redundancy for 100+ kW racks.
• Manage plumbing and fluid systems, including coolant distribution and closed-loop designs.
• Architect modular data center solutions (1-2 MW pods) for large 50-300 MW sites.“
• Deliver MEP designs tailored to GB300 and VR200 architectures with rack power and cooling requirements.
• Perform system-level studies (power, thermal, hydraulic, CFD) and ensure code compliance.
• Collaborate with architecture, structural, IT, and construction teams through all phases.
• Optimize for energy efficiency, capacity planning, fault tolerance, and TCO in AI environments.
• Develop and review drawings/specifications; mentor junior engineers.
