Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Solution Architect – Fiber & Structured Cabling for AI Data Centers to design high-density fiber and cabling solutions. You will translate requirements into scalable physical designs, BOMs, and documentation, collaborating with customers, account teams, engineers, OEMs and field delivery.

The role demands deep data center fiber expertise, experience with GPU clusters, high-speed fabrics, and scalable deployment methodologies across large programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing fiber, structured cabling or physical network infrastructure in data centers.
• Strong knowledge of high-density fiber, GPU connectivity, Ethernet/InfiniBand fabrics.
• Experience coordinating with OEMs, integrators and field delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and architecture for fiber and cabling in AI data center programs.
• Translate compute, network, rack, and deployment needs into physical designs, BOMs and requirements.
• Design high-density fiber architectures for GPU clusters and data center interconnects.
• Develop rack-to-rack, zone, backbone, and cross-connect cabling architectures.
• Define fiber types, polarity, patching, labeling, pathways and cable management standards.
• Create and validate BOMs, cable matrices, port maps, and installation docs.
• Collaborate with OEMs to validate interoperability and roadmaps.
• Support proposals, RFQs, technical reviews and design handoffs.
• Ensure designs are constructible, scalable, testable and repeatable.
