Job summary

PURVIEW is seeking a Fiber Cabling Engineer to support a large-scale AI Factory GPU cluster deployment in Colorado. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and overseeing high-density fiber-optic cabling across data center infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in fiber optics, data center or HPC deployments, with hands-on termination, splicing, testing, and the ability to manage multiple contractor teams. This is a contract/project-based engagement in Colorado.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in fiber optics and data center infrastructure.
• Experience with high-density fiber deployments in large-scale environments.
• Hands-on fiber termination, splicing, patching, routing, labeling, and testing.
• Knowledge of single-mode/multimode fiber, MPO/MTP, and fiber polarity.
• Experience reading cabling drawings and rack elevations.
• Experience coordinating multiple installation teams.
• BICSI or fiber-optic certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee high-density fiber-optic cabling deployment.
• Manage fiber routing, patch panels, FDFs, and high-density connectivity.
• Review cabling drawings, rack elevations, cable schedules, and documentation.
• Coordinate installation contractors and field technicians.
• Validate fiber polarity, labeling, routing, termination, and connectivity.
• Coordinate OTDR, insertion-loss, and optical-power testing.
• Troubleshoot fiber loss, polarity issues, damaged fibers, and defects.
• Maintain as-built documentation, installation records, testing results, and punch lists.
• Support commissioning, cutover, and network connectivity validation.
• Ensure compliance with bend-radius, cable-management, pathway, safety, and quality requirements.

We are looking for an experienced Fiber Cabling Engineer / Infrastructure Deployment Specialist to support a large-scale AI Factory / GPU cluster deployment in Colorado.

• Duration: 3–6 months, with potential for project-based/freelance engagement
• Start: Late October / Early November 2026
• Scale: ~20,000 GPUs
• Engagement: Contract / Project-based
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee high-density fiber-optic cabling deployment.
• Manage fiber routing, pathways, patch panels, FDFs, and high-density connectivity.
• Review cabling drawings, rack elevations, cable schedules, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate installation contractors and field technicians.
• Validate fiber polarity, labeling, routing, termination, and connectivity.
• Coordinate OTDR, insertion-loss, and optical-power testing.

• Strong understanding of single-mode/multimode fiber, MPO/MTP, fiber polarity, patch panels, and FDFs.
• Experience reading cabling drawings, rack elevations, and pathway layouts.
• Experience coordinating multiple installation teams/contractors.
• Strong troubleshooting and field-deployment skills.
• AI/GPU cluster or HPC deployment experience.
• Experience with 10,000+ GPUs or tens of thousands of fiber connections.
• Knowledge of 400G/800G optical connectivity.
• BICSI or fiber-optic certifications.
