Job summary

Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer for Global Banking & Markets, Trading Technology in Salt Lake City, UT.

You will design, build, and operate high-availability, multi-region, cloud-native services with a strong emphasis on AI-driven development and secure, efficient P&L management for trading desks. You will collaborate with global teams to master large legacy codebases, govern multiple AI agents, and accelerate delivery across the full SDLC.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience in Java (Java 17+ preferred).
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Agent Mode, Devin, Gemini Code Assist).
• Experience building event-driven and distributed systems, incl. messaging platforms like Kafka.
• Strong SDLC practices: version control, CI/CD, automated build/test/deploy and code quality tooling.
• Solid testing discipline: unit, integration, acceptance testing with modern frameworks.
• Ability to navigate large unfamiliar codebases with/without AI assistance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high-availability, multi-region, cloud-native services.
• Develop event-driven architectures and optimized data paths for trade lifecycle management.
• Partner with engineers and stakeholders to model and digitize business processes and modernization.
• Manage the full lifecycle of software components from requirements to release, following SDLC and Agile practices.
• Innovate AI-driven solutions and reusable capabilities across front, middle, and back office functions.
• Multiply impact by orchestrating AI coding agents across the SDLC to accelerate delivery.
