Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As AI Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap, building production systems on top of AI models rather than training them.

You will work with engineering and delivery leadership to translate a documented automation roadmap into shipped workflows and tools, leveraging LangChain, LangGraph and OpenAI/Anthropic APIs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Implement integrations with OpenAI/Anthropic APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Create internal tools to reduce manual hours across the design/development process.
• Develop automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and internal CMS.
• Handle MCP server integrations as part of the AI stack.
