Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is hiring an AI Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on production systems on top of LLMs, not training models, and requires hands-on work with LangChain, LangGraph and related frameworks.

You will collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to convert a documented automation roadmap into shipped, working systems, including AI-assisted WordPress development, content generation and agentic pipelines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming)
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment
• Solid version control habits
• English proficiency sufficient for async written communication with a US-based team

Responsibilities

• Own and ship the internal automation roadmap; build production systems on top of LLMs
• Turn documented automation workflows into shipped, working systems
• Collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to implement AI-assisted WordPress development, content generation, and agentic pipelines
• Develop agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks
• Integrate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs including tool use and function calling
• Build internal tools reducing manual hours across design and development production processes
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and internal CMS/component library
• Contribute MCP (Model Context Protocol) server integrations as part of the AI stack
