Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As Machine Learning Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them.

We support remote work for Latin America and South Africa, and English is sufficient for async collaboration with a US-based team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with agent frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and basic cloud deployment.
• English proficiency for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools that reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• Implement MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.
