Job summary

Amphenol Borisch Technologies (ABT) in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking an AI and Business Systems Intern to support the Business Systems team by building AI tools and documenting business processes. This internship runs 40 hours/week from 5/17 through 8/13, providing hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot and process improvement in a manufacturing context.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in AI tools and how they can improve the way people work.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and comfortable learning new tools independently.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test 1-2 Microsoft Copilot agents to help employees work more efficiently.
• Meet with employees across departments to understand needs and gather requirements for agent development.
• Map current business processes for open Business Systems projects, documenting each step, handoff, and system involved.
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in existing processes.
• Create clear process maps, flowcharts, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with testing new systems and features to confirm they work as intended.
• Explain technical concepts in plain language to non-technical team members.
• Present project progress and final results to the Business Systems team and Leadership.
• Coordinate other projects as assigned by the Business Systems Manager.
