Job summary

Micron Technology seeks a software-centric AI Agentic Systems Engineer Intern to design, build, and productize an internal agentic AI platform for multi‑agent workflows in a cloud environment. You will develop and harden workflows, contribute to an automated hypothesis‑generation and test‑planning capability, and help deploy the platform on managed cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python; comfortable building and debugging non-trivial systems.
• Working knowledge of LLMs and agentic AI — prompt design, tool/function calling, and multi-agent or workflow frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen, or similar).
• Familiarity with cloud services and containers (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable), REST APIs, and version control (Git).
• Good verbal and written communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evaluate AI agents that automate multi‑stage research and analysis workflows.
• Implement agentic patterns — prompt design, tool/function calling, and orchestration — with an emphasis on reliability, traceability, and output quality.
• Help deploy AI workloads onto managed cloud infrastructure, partnering with IT on identity, security, and cost governance.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data sources to support retrieval, reasoning, and persistent memory across analyses.
• Develop reusable software tools and services that extend the platform’s capabilities.
• Incorporate AI methods across the development flow and document designs and evaluation criteria for reproducibility.
