Job summary

Nutrien Ag Solutions in San Marcos, CA, is seeking an Associate Sales Agronomist to grow the crop consulting business in the landscape, golf, and pest control segments. You will sell products, maintain territory programs, and strive to meet annual sales goals while applying agronomic knowledge and soil and tissue analysis to support customers.

The role requires a Bachelor's in agriculture, a PCA license or ability to obtain it, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field.
• PCA license required or ability to test for credentials.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Sell company products and services.
• Maintain sales programs within assigned territory/accounts.
• Responsible for meeting annual sales goals.
• Monitor competitive activity and trends.
• Knowledge of product features, benefits, and use.
• Provide training to employees, as needed.
• Initiate trials that will support marketing efforts.
• Interpret soil, tissue, and water analysis.
• Research and respond to technical inquiries.
• Develop proprietary fertilizer formulations.
• Publish and distribute periodic summaries of agronomic observations and research.
• Maintain and build customer contacts.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in an agriculturally based program

PCA License or ability to test for credentials

Valid Driver’s License
