Job summary

MKC is seeking a qualified individual to oversee the agronomy shipping, receiving, and inventory functions across multiple locations. You will ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local, and MKC policies while maintaining records and coordinating with customers to optimize efficiency.

The role requires knowledge of agronomy products, regulatory requirements, and hands-on experience with crop protection and fertilizer delivery, along with a CDL A license and 1A chemical applicator

Qualifications

• Ability to handle logistics and inventory of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Operational knowledge of equipment used for agronomy location handling dry fertilizer, liquid fertilizer, anhydrous ammonia and crop protection products.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations and MKC policies.
• CDL A with HazMat and Tanker endorsements required.
• 1A Chemical applicator license required.
• Strong planning, coordinating and communication skills.
• Organization and analytical skills.
• Computer and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational functions of the agronomy department at locations including loading spray rigs and tender trucks, receiving shipments, and maintaining inventory.
• Make agronomic recommendations to customers following best management practices and MKC policy.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies (DOT, OSHA, EPA).
• Maintain knowledge of government regulations affecting the position.
• Supervise daily receiving/shipping activities and maintain records.
• Oversee inventory control of chemicals and fertilizer at the location.
• Prepare and operate within budgets for areas of responsibility.
• Attend training classes and support manager-selected projects.
• Serve as backup to sprayer/spreader operators and tender drivers.
• Serve as backup to operate bulk seed plant when needed.
• Train employees in operation and maintenance of agronomy equipment.
• Take and send soil samples.
• Promote teamwork and MKC image; follow safety policies.
