Job summary

Farm Credit Illinois is seeking an Assistant Vice President / Vice President of Lending to maintain, grow, and service a diverse loan portfolio while representing the organization in the community.

You will build relationships with agricultural clients, drive loan growth, assess financial positions, and collaborate with Credit Services and loan committees to deliver sound credit decisions and strong member service. Travel throughout the assigned territory is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, agriculture or related field.
• For AVP level: no prior experience required.
• For VP level: minimum 3 years of experience in sales or an ag‑related field.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships and generate new business by engaging in the agricultural community and participating in events.
• Drive loan growth by pursuing new opportunities and expanding relationships through referrals.
• Assess financial positions, advise on credit decisions, and deliver lending solutions across loan products.
• Originate loans by assessing member needs and preparing complete applications.
• Prepare and support credit packages through financial analysis with Credit Services and loan committees.
• Close loans by ensuring accuracy and adherence to credit standards and delivering strong member experiences.
• Proactively manage and service the loan portfolio and monitor market conditions.
