Job summary

American AgCredit is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to evaluate large commercial and real estate loan applications, service loans, and actively pursue new business. You will analyze financial data, prepare documents, and interact with customers to support growth within a cooperative framework.

The role emphasizes strong credit discipline, collaboration with teams, and ongoing development within a hybrid work environment across multiple offices.

Qualifications

• At least 5-7 years progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience.
• BA/BS degree with emphasis on agribusiness, business administration, or equivalent.
• Strong credit and analytical skills.
• Understanding of agricultural lending principles and Farm Credit System policies.
• Knowledge of FCA regulations and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview loan applicants and prepare loan applications, financial statements and budgets.
• Prepare financial statements and budgeting spreadsheets (balance sheets, income statements).
• Input data into loan origination and processing systems.
• Review credit and financial information; determine need for further investigation; prepare summaries and opinions on credit-worthiness.
• Analyze loan applications and supporting documents; recommend approval or denial within authority.
• Verify financial statements, review credit reports, and collect data; communicate credit philosophy and stock requirements.
