Job summary

American AgCredit seeks a Portfolio Analyst to analyze and manage a diverse commercial and real estate loan portfolio. You will service loans, pursue new business, and support marketing and development programs.

Experience in agricultural lending and strong credit skills are essential to assess risk and support customers. The role emphasizes collaboration across teams, loan committee participation, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• At least 5-7 years of progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience.
• BA/BS degree with emphasis on agribusiness, business administration, or equivalent.
• Strong credit and analytical skills and understanding of agricultural lending principles and Farm Credit System policies.
• Knowledge of FCA regulations, association policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; mentoring and training capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Interview loan applicants and prepare loan applications, financial statements and budgets.
• Prepare spreadsheets of financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements.
• Input data into loan origination and processing systems.
• Analyze credit information; determine need for further information; present opinions on credit-worthiness.
• Recommend approval/denial within lending authority; review legal documentation.
• Verify financial statements, credit reports, and collect relevant data.
• Communicate credit philosophy and loan products; promote related services.
• Manage loan servicing actions and monitor assigned portfolio; interact with title companies.
• Provide backup to loan officers on customer service issues and respond to requests.
