Job summary

American AgCredit in Kansas is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to analyze and evaluate large commercial and real estate loan applications, service loans, and pursue new business through organized marketing and development programs.

You will interview applicants, prepare financial statements, input loan data, assess credit-worthiness, and assist with loan committee activities. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 5-7 years progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience.
• BA/BS degree with emphasis on agribusiness, business administration, or equivalent.
• Strong credit and analytical skills.
• Understanding of agricultural lending principles and Farm Credit System operating policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of FCA regulations and association policies.
• Strong prioritization and time management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with PC, including word processing and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Interview loan applicants; prepare loan applications, financial statements and budgets.
• Prepare financial statements (balance sheets, income statements).
• Input data into loan origination and loan processing systems.
• Review credit information; analyze and assess credit-worthiness.
• Analyze loan applications and supporting documents.
• Recommend approval or denial of loans within lending authority.
• Review and determine legal documentation.
• Verify financial statements and collect relevant data.
• Promote loan products and related services.
• Prepare loan servicing actions and monitor portfolio.
• Interact with title companies.
• Monitor loan process.
• Provide backup to loan officers for customer service issues.
• Conduct collateral inspections.
• Represent the Association at public functions.
• Participate in loan committee meetings.
