American AgCredit seeks a Portfolio Analyst to analyze and evaluate large commercial and real estate loan applications, service loans, and pursue new business through marketing and development programs. The role may manage an existing loan portfolio and renew operating and term loans.

The position requires 5–7 years of banking or related agricultural lending experience, a BA/BS in a relevant field, and strong credit/communication skills.

Qualifications

• At least 5-7 years progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience.
• BA/BS degree with emphasis on agribusiness, business administration, or equivalent.
• Strong credit and analytical skills; knowledge of FCA regulations and Farm Credit System operating policies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in use of PC, including word-processing, e-mail and electronic spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Interview loan applicants; prepare loan applications, financial statements and budgets.
• Prepare spreadsheets of financial statements, e.g., balance sheets and income statements.
• Input all required data into the loan origination and loan processing systems.
• Review all pertinent credit and financial information; analyze information to determine credit-worthiness.
• Analyze loan applications and supporting documents; recommend approvals/denials.
• Determine and review legal documentation.
• Verify financial statements, review credit reports, and collect relevant data.
• Communicate credit philosophy and stock requirements; promote loan products and related services.
• Prepare loan servicing actions and follow-up on assigned loan portfolio; interact with title companies.
• Monitor loan process; provide backup to loan officers for customer service issues.
• Represent the Association at public functions.
• Conduct credit training and development programs for staff.
• May serve on loan committee meetings.
