Job summary

CGS is seeking an IT Project Manager to design, develop, and oversee IT projects for a large federal entity. The role emphasizes Agile project management, acting as team lead or primary liaison, and driving project plans from design to delivery.

The successful candidate will manage scope, schedules, resources, and risks while ensuring timely, on-budget delivery. A strong focus on Agile practices and continuous improvement is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information Systems or related field
• 5+ years of project management experience
• 5+ years leading IT projects with on-time, on-budget delivery
• 5+ years of programming experience in Java/JavaScript/JBoss Fuse/AngularJS
• Knowledge of API management, RESTful APIs, cloud and on-premise environments
• Experience managing an Agile Scrum team with developers, testers and DevOps
• Master’s degree or PM certification preferred
• Experience in health and human services domains is a plus
• Industry certifications/licenses are a plus

Responsibilities

• Define project scope and schedule with focus on delivering value
• Organize and lead project status and working meetings
• Prepare and distribute progress reports
• Manage risks and issues; correct deviations and plan delivery
• Develop initiatives for process improvements and monitoring
• Lead team to make decisions on system implementation and maintenance
• Develop and update business process documentation for testing and training
• Define and implement a standardized Agile PM process and continuous improvement initiatives
• Deliver an Agile transformation plan to reach target state
• Provide technical analysis reports to support discussions with the Agency
