Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH Company, seeks a Quality Control Technician to test aggregates and assist in manufacturing processes. You will work with teams to ensure compliance with specification requirements and provide accurate test results.

Responsibilities include data entry, reporting, and communicating findings to quarry personnel. ODOT certifications and basic software skills are desirable, with potential night/weekend shifts and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to carry out standardized laboratory tests in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO standards.
• Ability to detect safety hazards and malfunctions and respond accordingly.
• Ability to operate a two-way radio.
• Current or working towards Level 2 or 3 HMA ODOT Certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Test materials in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
• Identify and become familiar with mix specifications requirements.
• Monitor quality of aggregates on specific jobs.
• Test materials to determine weight, gravity, and gradation.
• Communicate test results to technicians and supervisors.
• Input test results into lab computers and remote locations.
• Assist quarry personnel in adjusting processes to conform to specifications.
• Follow the company ethics policy when reporting results.
• Learn basic software skills such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
