Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform aggregate testing and assist in manufacturing processes across Ohio. You will conduct standardized tests, document results, and communicate findings to the team on a regular basis.

Position Overview

Conduct tests on aggregate to determine compliance with required specifications. Assist and make recommendations in the process of the manufacturing of aggregate. Quality Control Technicians usually perform their duties during a shift that varies with the operation of the business, may include night work, and may involve overtime. Duties are performed under limited or no supervision.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Testing materials in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
• Identify and become familiar with various mix specifications requirements.
• Monitor the quality of aggregates for and on specific jobs in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
• Test materials to determine specific requirements such as weight, gravity, and gradation.
• Communicate with other technicians regarding specifications and test results.
• Input test result data into computers in laboratories and remote locations.
• Communicate and assist quarry personnel in adjusting processes to conform to specifications.
• Report and communicate test results ethically, adhering to The Shelly Company Ethics Policy.
• Must possess or have the ability to learn basic computer software skills, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
