Job summary

MAPFRE is seeking an Agentic AI Engineer to develop production-grade AI agents and LLM-powered applications for insurance workflows. Based in Boston or Webster, MA, this hybrid role blends software engineering with AI to deliver scalable solutions from prototype to production.

You'll collaborate with AI architects, business stakeholders, and domain experts to define patterns, ensure governance, and measure business impact across a global insurance organization.

Qualifications

• 7 years of software engineering or related field, or 5 years with a Master's
• 2 years building production-grade LLM-based applications
• Strong Python development and software engineering fundamentals
• Experience designing APIs and enterprise integrations
• Hands-on experience with agent frameworks or SDKs (LangGraph preferred)
• Experience with model APIs or managed AI platforms such as Amazon Bedrock
• Experience building production AI agents that integrate with enterprise systems
• Understanding AI governance, security, and responsible AI practices
• Strong communication to explain AI behavior to stakeholders
• Proven ability to solve complex problems independently

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy agentic AI workflows
• Develop Python-based backend services, APIs, and integrations
• Implement cloud-native AI solutions using AWS, containers, and CI/CD
• Build evaluation, observability, monitoring, and governance controls
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, stakeholders to prototype and scale AI solutions
• Measure technical performance and business value
