ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a key member of the Agency Compensation team within our Sales & Distribution function, you'll collaborate across our Property & Casualty and Employee Benefits segments. You'll ensure smooth compensation operations, maintain high documentation standards, and lead continuous improvement efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the operational hub for payments: process calculations, prepare check packets, and ensure timely, accurate payments.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement: gather feedback, analyze metrics, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance tools, models, and reporting capabilities.
  • Optimize workflows: Identify inefficiencies and implement smart, scalable solutions that boost accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance and clarity: draft and review letter agreements with precision, maintaining alignment with company standards.
  • Own project lifecycle: support project management efforts by tracking timelines, deliverables and communications to stakeholders.
  • Manage communication: oversee team mailboxes to ensure timely, organized, and effective responses.
  • Maintain data integrity: resolve discrepancies and ensure compensation systems reflect accurate information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in documentation and data management.
  • Ability to provide insight and consult stakeholders to effectively influence outcomes.
  • Experience with project management principles and stakeholder coordination.
  • Proficiency in Excel, and other aspects of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Certifications in compensation, finance, or project management are a plus but not required.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work schedule. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Charlotte, NC | Clinton, NY | Hartford, CT | San Antonio, TX) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work schedule, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$65,600 - $98,400
