Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County is seeking a responsible Van Driver to safely transport youth from designated schools to the Club on weekday afternoons during the school year and for outings during summer. This as-needed, part-time role requires punctuality, reliability, and a focus on safety while supervising youth in transport.

The position emphasizes safe driving, vehicle inspections, and accurate logs, with opportunities for ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 years old.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class C) with Passenger (P) endorsement.
• Clean driving record with no major violations; insurable under the Club’s vehicle insurance policy.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport youth to the Club and field trips.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain transportation logs and mileage records.
• Ensure safety and supervision of youth during transport.
• Communicate with staff, school personnel, and parents.
• Follow traffic laws and Club safety policies.
• Keep van clean and organized.
• Report maintenance needs and incidents.
