Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a Youth Development Leader to oversee afterschool programming, ensuring safety and promoting youth engagement. You will manage staff and implement age-appropriate activities.

The ideal candidate has experience working with children, is certified in CPR and First Aid, and can effectively communicate with parents. This part-time role requires working hours that align with local school calendars and may include irregular hours during camps.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• Minimum of 70 clock hours of training in child or youth development.
• At least 1 year experience working with youth.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required.
• Ability to implement age-appropriate activities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the afterschool program.
• Ensure safety and security of children and staff.
• Implement positive behavior management techniques.
• Communicate with parents about their child's progress.
