Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County is seeking a Youth Development Professional for the Carbon County area to support afterschool programs at Creek View Elementary YDP, Bruin Point Elementary YDP, Sally Mauro Elementary YDP, and Carbon County YDP Substitute sites.

The role focuses on nurturing healthy relationships, educating children in social & emotional intelligence, and maintaining a safe, engaging environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Play and positively interact with the children throughout the program.
• Engage with children.
• Conduct physical activities: i.e., soccer, basketball, playground games.
• Conflict resolution between children, staff members, and parents.
• Learn emotional support and assist club members.
• Strengthen your skills of social & emotional intelligence for yourself and children.
• Ability to stand outside for at least 30 minutes supervising recess (rain or shine).
• Learn and improve interpersonal skills, communication, and child development knowledge.
• Teach and lead activities/lessons. Coordinate with your Site Director/Coordinator on the activity and lesson schedule.
• Request supplies needed for your lessons.
• Attend and actively participate in staff site weekly, monthly & quarterly meetings.
• Administer member surveys.
