Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking an Afterschool Site Director to oversee day-to-day operations, plan activities for elementary students, and ensure compliance with YMCA and Bright from the Start regulations. This grant-funded role requires coordinating staff, managing attendance, and supporting virtual learning when needed.

You will supervise staff, maintain records, and contribute to program planning, while upholding YMCA safety protocols and training requirements. Location: Arthur M.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age
• Must possess a credential that meets BFTS Site Directors requirement
• Have prior experience working with school-age children in a group setting
• A licensed setting and supervision of staff in a school-age setting is a plus
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with internet platforms like Google Classroom and Zoom
• Must pass a Bright from the Start fingerprint check
• Ergonomic requirements: bending, stooping, standing, lifting up to 30 pounds, etc.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment with activities and instruction supporting program goals
• Conduct daily assessments to ensure compliance with YMCA and BFTS regulations
• Supervise staff and communicate concerns to the Program Director
• Maintain staff and student files per policy
• Compile attendance records and program data
• Coordinate supply orders with the Program Director
• Attend required trainings (BFTS, YMCA) and maintain training hours
• Provide input into planning and development of the program
• Complete monthly self-assessments of the program
• Assist students with virtual learning assignments as required
• Implement YMCA safety protocols related to COVID and branch operations
